Lateral Canthoplasty involves the cutting of the outer corner of the eyes, to lengthen the eyes. This is often performed with double eyelid procedure to enhance the result.
The advantages of Lateral Canthoplasty
There is no need to worry about scars because the mucous membrane of the lateral angle of the eyes are incised. If necessary, the eye slant is firmly fixed to the periost so that the position of eye slant can be adjusted without worrying about recurrence.
The length of the eyes are extended by making an incision on a lateral angle of the eyes, and the incision length is usually about 2~3 mm. After arranging the skin of the incised lateral angle of the eyes, the orbicular muscles of the eyes, and the lateral angle muscle, the lateral angle muscle itself is fixed to the periost if necessary. The arranged lateral angle of the eyes is then carefully sutured.
1. incision made on the side of the eye
2. Remove the tissue that induces adhesion.
3. Naturally wider looking eyes after surgery.
