What NOT TO DO Right Before Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated festivals among the Chinese community in Singapore. It is a time where you can get yourself thoroughly soaked in the festive mood, enjoy feasting on festive goodies like bak kwa and love letters while re-connecting with your family members. This is the time to put your best face forward – it is your yearly opportunity to impress your relatives! To look ready for this BIG festive event of the year, here are five key things you MUST NOT do before New Year’s Day!

#1: Do NOT get a traditional facial or a chemical peel right before new year’s day!

Facials are essential in helping you achieve soft and smooth skin before a big day, but many facials usually involve manual extractions which makes skin look red and irritated. It is thus necessary to have it at least one week in advance!

However, if you would like to clear away the impurities on your face right before Chinese New Year while achieving a Korean dewy glow without the pain - this is possible with our award winning KKUM Signature Medical Grade Facial!

At Dream, our beauty therapists prefer to use a special pore suction device to remove your blackheads, ensuring you have a pampered and pain-free experience while achieving your desired results! After the facial, you will find your skin hydrated, radiance restored and fine lines lightened. Keen to find out more? You can speak to our friendly consultants at 6871 8888! Now, let’s move on!

#2: Do NOT eat too much salty foods

Eating salt raises the amount of sodium in your bloodstream and destroys the delicate balance within, reducing the ability of your kidneys to remove the excess water. The negative effects are aplenty, and include puffy eyes, eye bags and facial bloating.

#3: Do NOT consume too much dairy products

Did you know that dairy products contain growth hormones and inflammatory substances that can clog pores and potentially cause breakouts?

If you want to get glowing skin, remember to substitute dairy products with non-dairy ones, such as almond milk!

Have more raw foods such as leafy greens, fruits and nuts to see their beautifying effects with your own eyes!

#4: Do NOT neglect drinking plain water

The simplest and most straightforward beauty boost? Drinking plenty of water. Drinking water keeps your skin well-hydrated and helps your body flush out toxins more efficiently, giving you clear, fresh and glowing skin.

Hate water? Simply try tossing slices of lemon with mint leaves for a refreshing change!

Last but not least, the #nocost #free #beautytip.

#5: Do NOT touch your face unnecessarily.

We know that this may be a subconscious habit, but touching your face mindlessly can lead to horrible acne issues! The oils in your hands are very different from the ones on your face and can exacerbate skin troubles.

This is why you should make a conscious effort to avoid touching your face. If you really must, use something clean, such as a piece of tissue paper!

We are certain that if you avoid these 5 beauty no-nos, you’ll be well on your way to achieving clearer, more luminous skin for Chinese New Year!

Have a wonderful time with your loved ones and Gong Xi Fa Cai!
